Biofuels Industry Status

The Biofuels Industry Status provided on the Garbrook home page is derived from the Garbrook Advanced Biofuels Resource (ABR). Both the ABR and the Biofuels Industry Status are updated with each daily ABR product build.

ABR subscribers also have access to complete listings of Biofuel Plants and Projects, compiled in Mega Tables, as well as Digital Pages that describe each corresponding company in detail.

ABR Mega Tables

Key information about Biofuels Plants and Projects in the Advanced Biofuels Resource (ABR) is compiled and tabulated in Mega Tables. The ABR Mega Tables are available in HTML format and as downloadable spreadsheets that can be sorted, saved, and printed.

At present, we offer Mega Tables for:

We plan to expand our offering to include additional Mega Tables.

US Ethanol Plants and Projects

Summary Table

The US Ethanol Summary Table (Figure 1) is derived from the Garbrook Advanced Biofuels Resource (ABR) and includes the total number of ethanol plants and projects that are operating, under construction, or proposed in the United States. It also specifies the total number of plants reporting capacity, as well as their combined capacities. The Summary Table is updated with each daily ABR product build.

Details about the individual plants and projects are compiled in the US Ethanol Mega Table.

Mega Table

The US Ethanol Mega Table contains key details about ethanol plants and projects that are proposed, under construction, or operating in the United States, including cellulosic ethanol projects. Access the HTML version of the US Ethanol Mega Table online, or download the Mega Table as a spreadsheet.

HTML version

The online (HTML) version of the US Ethanol Mega Table (Figure 2) highlights operational information, including the name of the company, the location, the type of project, the capacity (in million gallons per year)*, the status of non-performing plants and projects, and start and end dates for construction.

Company names are hyperlinked to Digital Pages in the ABR that describe the corresponding company in detail, as well as the specific ethanol plant or project. State names are hyperlinked to Digital Pages that describe Biofuels-related information for the state.

*Capacity indicates actual production values when known; otherwise, capacity indicates design values.

Downloadable version

Garbrook offers expanded content in the downloadable version of the US Ethanol Mega Table, which includes additional fields for the type of plant (dry mill, wet mill), feedstocks, coproducts, and the contractor.

The downloadable US Ethanol Mega Table is available as a formatted sreadsheet (Figure 3) or as a text file, with or without hyperlinks to the corresponding Digital Pages in the ABR.

US Biodiesel Plants and Projects

Summary Table

It also specifies the total number of plants reporting capacity, as well as their combined capacities. The Summary Table is updated with each daily ABR product build.

Details about the individual plants and projects are compiled in the US Biodiesel Mega Table.

Mega Table

The US Biodiesel Mega Table contains key details about biodiesel plants and projects that are proposed, under construction, or operating in the United States. We aim to cover in full all plants that produce at least 5 million gallons of biodiesel per year. Access the HTML version of the US Biodiesel Mega Table online, or download the Mega Table as a spreadsheet.
